Marine Water Quality Officer - 32656
Position at Environment Agency, part of Operations Catchment Services marine team. One permanent and one fixed‑term 6‑month role.
Responsibilities
* Review reports and summarise key information for decision‑making.
* Interpret monitoring data and model outputs to support environmental protection.
* Summarise and communicate technical work, escalating challenges when needed.
* Provide timely answers to technical questions.
* Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
* Use data to inform water quality models.
* Apply sound records‑management principles.
* Use initiative to contribute to the work of the team and the wider organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; expected to be working towards professional membership.
* Experience in data analysis and, ideally, knowledge of modelling software.
* Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Access, R, Power BI, GIS, Mike or Cormix is an advantage.
* Ability to review complex reports and clearly communicate key issues to non‑technical audiences.
* Comfortable working in a virtual team and travelling occasionally for national meetings.
