As an Occupational Therapist in Adult Social Care, you’ll play a key role in supporting adults across Coventry to maximise their independence and quality of life. Your responsibilities will include: Completing comprehensive functional assessments for adults with a wide range of disabilities Designing and delivering personalised therapeutic intervention programmes Carrying out environmental and ergonomic assessments Assessing cognitive and functional abilities related to daily living tasks Undertaking specialist manual handling risk assessments and providing expert advice Recommending and arranging equipment and home adaptations Training citizens, carers, and staff in safe and effective use of equipment Managing your own caseload, reviewing progress, and adjusting goals as needed Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with professional and departmental standards Supervising therapy assistants and supporting colleagues across the service Working collaboratively with internal teams, NHS partners, care providers, GPs, housing services, and voluntary organisations Contributing to project work and service development initiatives Working flexibly, including participation in a 7‑day rota and Bank Holidays You’ll be accountable for upholding safeguarding responsibilities, equality and diversity principles, and data protection standards. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Who are we looking for? We’re seeking a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist who is passionate about empowering adults to live independently. You’ll bring strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to evidence‑based practice. You’ll thrive in this role if you: Are HCPC registered with a Diploma or BSc in Occupational Therapy Have sound knowledge of adult conditions, rehabilitation principles, and multi‑pathology Understand relevant legislation including the Care Act, manual handling regulations, and social care frameworks Can work sensitively with individuals with physical, learning, or mental health disabilities Are confident completing specialist assessments and developing tailored intervention plans Can work independently, manage your own caseload, and prioritise effectively Have strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to guide therapy assistants Are committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice Post‑graduate education is desirable but not essential.
