HGV Class 1 Driver - Trunking / Curtainsider - Tamworth, Staffordshire
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver - Trunking / Curtainsider to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Shifts
• Monday to Friday• Start times between 03:00 and 07:00 (flexibility required)
Rates of Pay
• £17.00 per hour - Basic• £19.14 per hour - Saturday• £25.18 per hour - Sunday

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Completing 2-3 depot-to-depot trunking runs per shift• Operating curtainsider trailers (no handball required)• Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently• Carrying out daily vehicle checks before and after each shift• Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations• Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
Essential Skills
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
• A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence• A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience• A valid Driver CPC qualification• A valid Digital Tachograph card• No more than six penalty points for minor offences• No major endorsement codes• Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws and regulations• Excellent communication and timekeeping skills• The ability to work independently and maintain professionalism
Desirable Experience
• Previous commercial driving experience• Experience completing trunking or multi-drop deliveries
Training Provided
• Driver assessment required prior to starting• One-day paid induction following successful assessment
