We are seeking a dynamic Band 7 Ward Manager to lead our skilled and compassionate team on Fletcher Ward, a 17-bedded Acute Admissions unit providing assessment and treatment for adults aged 18 and over experiencing a mental health crisis.

Main duties of the job
As Ward Manager, you will take clinical and operational responsibility for the ward, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care in a safe and therapeutic environment. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with professionals, carers, and community services to support recovery-focused care and timely discharge planning.
You will play a key role in shaping and developing services that reflect best practice, innovation, and the principles of reablement and recovery. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining a culture of safety, compassion, and excellence.

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
Essential
* Professional Qualification and registration with professional body
* Experience of working with patients with complex and challenging needs
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and ability to complete reflective practice
* Up to date knowledge of current legislation, national policies and guidance relevant to people with a Mental Health diagnosis
Desirable
* Clinical management skills and previous experience of service line management
Skills and Aptitude
Essential
* Able to engage individuals with complex needs and/or their carers in the admission and discharge pathway
* Up to date clinical skills in providing mental health care to patients in hospital
* Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication
Desirable
* Project management and Budget skills
Knowledge and abilities
Essential
* Understanding of CQC regulations
* Knowledge and application of KSF, PDR systems, workforce planning and management.
