Join our global Communication & Marketing function as our External Communications Manager for Western Europe and APAC, communicating how Ramboll helps clients realize their goals while navigating the transition to a more sustainable future.
Your new role
As our External Communications Manager, you will support our overall ambition to become the partner for sustainable change for our clients and stakeholders. You will play a vital role in ensuring our global campaigns and priority topic agendas land with impact across our region. Topics include the green energy transition, sustainable transport and buildings, resilient societies, and biodiversity. You will be responsible for planning and implementing comprehensive content strategies (online and offline) and developing localization to ensure our campaigns and topics resonate with local audiences. You will also create core content with the support of the regional team (such as media releases, local value propositions, messaging, and event formats) to support implementation. Building strong relationships with key leaders in the business will give you insights into our clients’ pressing agendas, ensuring our business delivers a comprehensive marketing and sales effort. You will collaborate with colleagues in the regional communications and marketing team to finalize plans, execute, and report on results to continually improve effectiveness.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Lead the localization of global campaigns and initiatives.
2. Curate localized content that resonates across the region’s geographies (UK and Ireland, Germany, and Asia Pacific).
3. Plan and execute comprehensive localized channel strategies for high-profile external impact, ensuring compliance.
4. Explore client engagement opportunities to support work-winning efforts.
5. Build stakeholder relationships with relevant client-facing teams to support end-to-end marketing and sales activities.
6. Develop an understanding of key accounts and clients to inform content strategies aligned with their agendas.
7. Work closely with regional communication and marketing colleagues (totaling 15), including the heads of comms for each geography, to align plans and deliver results.
8. Collaborate with global marketing teams to incorporate local market insights into campaign planning.
9. Support research to understand regional audience preferences and behaviors, informing content strategies.
10. Continuously improve campaign and content performance.
11. Ensure consistency and alignment with global brand messaging and objectives.
About you
* Proven experience planning and delivering external initiatives, campaigns, and thought leadership across online and offline channels.
* Exceptional content writing and communication skills.
* Ability to translate complex agendas into effective, audience-resonant communications.
* Proactive with an ambitious mindset, eager to explore new digital media opportunities and client engagement formats.
* Collaborative and inclusive, supporting a positive team culture.
* Relevant experience or educational background in PR, communication, marketing, or equivalent.
* Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry is preferred.
* Experience working in a complex matrix organization is beneficial.
