As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Design Engineer to support the building of Sizewell C. This is a monumental project that will see the creation of a 3.2-gigawatt power station, providing clean electricity for around 6 million homes for at least 60 years.
Responsibilities
* Leading and managing Enabling & Earthworks project packages and teams, from concept and design to delivery.
* Ensuring plans and designs meet requirements and are code compliant.
* Suggesting value engineering and risk reduction ideas to contribute to the project’s success.
* Working with top-tier designers like Atkins and COWI as part of the CWA, ensuring high-quality, complete packages for our operational teams.
Qualifications
* Competent technical knowledge and experience in design.
* Proven ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary design teams.
* Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
* In-depth understanding of project scheduling, commercial arrangements, and budget control.
* Understanding of design and engineering interfaces with construction teams, commissioning teams, supply chain, and third parties.
* Experience in large infrastructure projects. Professional accreditation and/or a sector-specific MSc degree would be advantageous.
