Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated General Practitioner (GP) with a Special Interest in Urgent Care to join our team working across the Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) in Cumbria. As a GP in our UTCs, the post holder will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality, safe, and patient‑centred urgent care to our local communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team, including advanced clinical practitioners, nurses, and healthcare support staff, to deliver safe, high‑quality, and patient‑centred care for a broad range of urgent but non‑life‑threatening conditions.
* Deliver urgent care within the North Cumbria Urgent Treatment Centres, ensuring timely assessment, treatment, and clear onward care pathways.
* Actively join in teaching and training of junior doctors, medical students, trainee advanced practitioners, and trainee physician associates.
* Engage in audit and quality improvement activity, supporting evidence‑based practice and service development.
* Play an active role in the wider unplanned care programme, including departmental meetings, multidisciplinary discussions, teaching sessions, and audit reviews.
* Provide expert clinical care across our Urgent Treatment Centres, supporting safe and effective urgent care delivery.
