Purpose of the Role
Responsible for winning new business and achieving volume and revenue targets by building a strong pipeline of prospects.
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a sales plan that exceeds volume and revenue budgets.
* Proactively generate a new business pipeline to secure sufficient active prospects for the financial year.
* Follow and refine the new business sales process to improve win‑rate.
* Ensure all pricing is profitable and maximised, working with the commercial team for clear pricing visibility.
* Identify market demand gaps and liaise with the commercial team to address them.
* Maintain accurate CRM data and produce KPIs to measure effectiveness.
* Build strong relationships with operational teams to ensure excellent customer service.
* Communicate new business prospects to operations for capacity assessment.
* Represent Freightliner at relevant external events.
Key Requirements
* Degree level education or equivalent.
* Experience in new business development, preferably within transport or supply‑chain.
* Strong leadership and clear communication skills.
* Financial literacy and experience in price optimisation.
* Ability to adapt to commercial challenges and changes.
* Effective prospect interaction and communication.
* Experience collaborating with commercial and operational teams.
* Familiarity with best‑practice new‑business sales processes.
