Research Nurse/Practitioner B6 - 22.5 hours available - CIC
This is a 1-year fixed-term post.
Applications are sought from highly motivated individuals to work in a newly developed research post in collaboration with Cumberland County Council. The aim of the post is to develop a portfolio of research into non-NHS settings, such as schools, social services, and other public health areas. The post holder will work closely with North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS FT and Cumberland County Council to develop and maintain research infrastructure, support participant recruitment, education, monitoring, and data collection.
The role includes research coaching, training, and access to academic resources through a partnership with the University of Cumbria. It involves direct contact with research participants and does not include laboratory work. Candidates should have an interest in health research and relevant post-registration experience.
Main duties include:
* Managing research projects under the council's services.
* Working on NIHR portfolio and other studies with minimal support.
Daily activities involve participant recruitment, data management, collaboration with investigators, and providing research support to staff, patients, and volunteers. The role supports registration with professional bodies for nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential): Registered nurse, midwife, allied health professional, or relevant degree.
Desirable: Postgraduate qualification.
Knowledge & Experience (Essential): Collaboration with agencies, explaining complex concepts, data reporting, CPD, understanding ethics and legislation, IT systems, working with research participants.
Desirable: Clinical research experience, knowledge of healthcare trends, GCP certification.
Skills & Aptitudes (Essential): Independence, organization, communication, meticulous data collection, teamwork, initiative, proficiency in MS Office and NHS IT systems, leadership skills.
Desirable: Report writing, management experience.
Personal Circumstances (Essential): Motivation for clinical research, ability to travel independently, flexible working approach, willingness to develop skills.
Desirable: Driving license.
