Freelance Site-Based Role – Residential Development (2-Month Contract)

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced freelance professional to support delivery on a well-established residential development in Swindon. This is a short-term contract role on a growing, multi-phase scheme offering a mix of modern homes within a thoughtfully planned community environment.
The development is situated within an expansive green setting, with extensive open space, walking routes and local amenities nearby. It forms part of a wider neighbourhood that combines new housing with schools, retail and leisure facilities, all within easy reach of the town centre and key transport links.
Role Overview
You will play a key role in supporting on-site operations during a busy phase of construction, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident working within active residential sites.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Senior Site Manager in overseeing day-to-day site activities and subcontractor coordination
Monitoring progress against programme and reporting updates
Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards
Maintaining quality control across build stages
Supporting site management with general project delivery tasks
Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders as required
Requirements
Proven experience within residential construction (housebuilding preferred)
Strong understanding of site processes and build programmes
Valid CSCS card, SMSTS and 1st Aid
Ability to hit the ground running in a live site environment
Excellent communication and organisational skills
