React Software Engineer

We're looking for curious Developers to join our cross-functional engineering team at Skipton Building Society. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to impactful front-end projects that power customer-facing and internal platforms across one of the UK's top building societies.
You'll be hands-on in building responsive, accessible, and elegant user interfaces using TypeScript, collaborating with engineers, designers, and product owners throughout the full software development lifecycle.

* Engineering software solutions - working with prototypes and proof of concepts.
* Producing accessible, responsive, rich front-end UI using TypeScript in ReactJS and NextJS frameworks.
* Integrating with cloud services and back-end systems (e.g., APIs, IDAM).
* Working in multidisciplinary engineering teams across the entire software development lifecycle.
We look for people passionate about solving problems through innovation and engineering practices. You'll apply your knowledge and expertise across all aspects of software development and partner with stakeholders to focus on our goals.
Our Ideal Candidate
Will have:
* 3+ years' experience with ReactJS/NextJS in a production environment.
* Strong front-end skills with TypeScript (JavaScript knowledge also valued).
* Familiarity with REST APIs.
* Solid understanding of version control such as Git.
* Experience with testing React applications using JEST or Vitest.
* Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
* Self-motivated and proactive in learning and delivery.
Would be great, but not essential, if you also had:
* Experience with Storybook and Atomic Design principles.
* Exposure to Azure services (AWS or other cloud platforms).
* Awareness of TDD/BDD practices.
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum or SAFe.
* Experience with Playwright end-to-end testing.
