Do you enjoy driving efficiency and automation through technology, or are you the person people call when a process takes 12 steps too many?
If so, you might be interested to know that one of our clients is looking for a Digital Workplace Consultant to work at the intersection of Finance and IT, helping to improve, simplify, and automate finance processes using Microsoft 365.
In this role, you’ll spend time understanding how processes currently operate, identifying inefficiencies, challenging existing procedures, and redesigning workflows where needed. You’ll then translate these insights into practical solutions using Microsoft 365 and the Power Platform, helping to drive real operational improvements.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Finance and IT, acting as a bridge between the two to ensure solutions meet business needs while aligning with technical standards, governance, and security requirements. Alongside delivery, you’ll support the adoption of new tools and ways of working, helping to embed best practice and increase the effective use of technologies.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes through digital tools
* Designing and implementing solutions using Microsoft 365 and Power Platform
* Translating business requirements into scalable, user-friendly solutions
* Supporting adoption of new tools and embedding best practice across teams
* Acting as a key link between Finance and IT to align business needs with technical delivery
* Contributing to the ongoing development of the digital workplace roadmap
* Continuously identifying opportunities to optimise processes using existing technology
We’re looking for someone with strong hands‑on experience across Microsoft 365, including Teams and SharePoint, as well as the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI). You should be comfortable improving or redesigning business processes and translating requirements into effective digital solutions. There is also a strategy for improving AI adoption, so experience with Microsoft Copilot or similar tooling would be great.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills are key, as is the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences. A mindset focused on continuous improvement and training others is a pre‑requisite.
Specific industry experience isn’t needed but exposure to financial systems (such as exposure to reporting, reconciliations, approvals, or financial controls, would be beneficial, as would experience delivering digital workplace or process automation initiatives and an understanding of governance within Power Platform.
This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, with the potential to go permanent at the end. Finance systems are just the immediate need, there’s a good opportunity for these benefits to be realised across the wider business too.
