Join a Specialist SEN School in New Malden

Are you motivated by the idea of making a meaningful impact on the lives of children with special educational needs? We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive specialist SEN school in New Malden, Kingston, that is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to become part of their highly supportive team.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant in this specialist setting, you will play a vital role in helping pupils with diverse and complex needs reach their potential. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing tailored support for pupils with a variety of needs including communication and speech difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and physical or medical conditions.
Working collaboratively with teachers, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to deliver individualised learning plans and intervention strategies.
Encouraging independence and personal growth by promoting confidence, resilience, and positive social interactions.
Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment where pupils feel supported, respected, and understood.
Assisting with personal care needs, where required, and ensuring safeguarding practices are upheld at all times.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking someone who is not only skilled but also genuinely passionate about supporting children with SEN. The ideal candidate will bring:

Previous experience working with children or young people who have additional learning needs (desirable but not essential).
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting individuals with different learning styles and challenges.
Confidence in managing behaviour positively and constructively, with a focus on encouragement and de-escalation.
Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and external professionals.
