Forklift Production Operator
Our client, a global packaging manufacturer, is currently seeking a Forklift Production Operator to join their team. This is a full-time temporary position based in Norwich, working the following alternative shifts:
* Early Shift: 6am – 2pm
* Late Shift: 2pm – 10pm
Education/Experience
* Willingness to learn new skills.
* FLT Counter Balance Licence required.
* Ability to work in a team environment.
* Ability to manage time and workload efficiently.
* Reasonable communication skills.
Job Purpose
* Assist in the day-to-day running of the can lines, operating seamers, palletisers, and slitters.
* Adhere to customer requirements within the manufacturing process, recording relevant information on time and quality sheets for audit purposes.
* Carry out required checks in accordance with quality processes and ISO standards.
* Assist in the production of components and caps to meet customer and quality standards, recording relevant information accordingly.
* Assist in running flex label machines to meet customer and quality requirements, recording relevant information.
Key Responsibilities/Requirements
* Palletizer operator: load correct number of cans and layers per pallet, ensuring customer design accuracy, correct labelling, and administration.
* Seamer operator: load correct rings and ends into hopper, clear wrecks if required, assist line crew, and perform housekeeping duties.
* Flex line operator: ensure correct materials and customer specifications are met, load/wrap, and handle application.
* Operate cap/rectangle presses to meet specifications and planning requirements.
* Repack cans according to customer requirements.
* Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of production areas, using floor scrubbers as needed.
* Participate in 5S projects, including cleaning, painting, and material sorting.
* Rework defective materials, cleaning, doping, sorting, and repairing as needed.
* Assist in production areas as directed.
* Communicate issues to the supervisor promptly.
Other Responsibilities/Duties
* Ensure materials are stored correctly per fire regulations.
* Check and sign off on forklift trucks before each shift (if trained).
* Maintain good housekeeping.
* Follow site health and safety requirements, using PPE as required.
