JOB – HGV Vehicle Mechanic
LOCATION – Birmingham
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience
My client is a well-established automotive service centre, known for delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services. They are currently looking for a skilled HGV Vehicle Mechanic to join their team in Birmingham on a permanent basis.
The Mechanic will ideally have the following attributes:
Strong knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrics
Diagnostic and fault-finding skills using modern diagnostic equipment
A valid UK driving licence
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Be able to work well both independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Willingness to learn and grow within the company
MUST have experience with HGV Class 1 & 2 Vehicles The Mechanic role will involve:
Performing routine maintenance and servicing on a wide range of vehicles
Carrying out diagnostics and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems
Replacing parts such as brakes, clutches, tyres, and timing belts
Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and complies with health and safety regulations
Communicating effectively with customers and team members about vehicle issues and repair timelines
Maintaining accurate records of work carried out
Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and organised
