At Newton Media, you'll head up our delegate sales team, developing strategy, coaching the team, and personally engaging with senior decision-makers across our markets. You'll play a key role in shaping the commercial success and reputation of our events, ensuring every conference attracts the right audience and delivers exceptional value.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll lead by example; combining hands-on selling with strategic direction to deliver strong revenue growth.
You'll:
* Develop and execute sales strategies that drive delegate attendance and maximise revenue.
* Lead, motivate, and coach the delegate sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
* Set Goals, OKRs and KPIs, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback and development support.
* Personally engage with senior prospects to secure high-value and multi-event bookings.
* Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and corporate group packages.
* Partner with marketing, sponsorship, and event production teams to align outreach and messaging.
* Represent Newton Media at events and industry gatherings, building long-term relationships with senior professionals.
* Analyse sales data, monitor pipeline health, and provide clear reports and insights to senior leadership.
Requirements
What You'll Bring
You'll be commercially minded, confident, and thrive on motivating others to hit big goals. You combine people-leadership skills with a hands-on approach and a strong grasp of what makes B2B delegate sales tick.
You'll also have:
* 3-5 years' experience in delegate sales for B2B conferences or events, with a record of exceeding targets.
* Minimum of 18 months experience managing or mentoring a sales team to strong performance, running events per year.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills - especially with senior executives.
* A consultative, relationship-driven sales style.
* Strong organisational and analytical skills.
* Proficiency with CRM systems such as ConstantContact, Salesforce or HubSpot.
* A positive, proactive, and results-focused mindset.
* Experience in the insurance, finance and intellectual property sectors would be a bonus.
