Job Title: CFD Engineer - Submarine Platforms
We are seeking a skilled CFD Engineer to conduct Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis and evaluation of submarine platforms, from concept through design to in-service support.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform CFD simulations, including pre-processing (CAD modelling and meshing), developing CFD models, solving, post-processing, and preparing technical reports and presentations.
2. Develop in-house modelling capabilities, processes, and toolsets for high-performance computing platforms.
3. Provide guidance and support to junior team members to enhance their technical skills and professional growth.
4. Collaborate with naval architects, systems teams, maneuvering and control teams, propulsion engineers, customers, and suppliers to deliver innovative submarine solutions.
5. Validate CFD predictions of submarine performance through comparison with physical model testing and other computational methods.
6. Offer informal technical coaching and mentoring to team members.
Requirements:
* In-depth knowledge and proven experience with CFD software such as Star-CCM+, Ansys Fluent/CFX, or OpenFOAM.
* Experience applying various CFD techniques to complex fluid dynamics problems.
* Strong understanding of fluid dynamic principles and methods.
* Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience.
Desirable:
* Hydrodynamic or aerodynamic design and evaluation experience.
