We’re currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive specialist setting in Treorchy. About the Role: You’ll be supporting pupils aged 7–11 who are currently unable to attend mainstream education due to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, medical conditions, or a diagnosis of autism. This setting offers a nurturing, structured environment tailored to meet the needs of pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support. Your Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils engage in learning Support students in developing positive behaviour strategies and coping mechanisms Contribute to behaviour support plans and intervention strategies De-escalate challenging behaviour and use appropriate intervention techniques (including physical intervention if trained) Work as part of a dedicated and experienced team of Behaviour Mentors and staff We’re Looking For Someone Who: Has experience working with children with SEMH, autism, or similar additional needs Is confident in managing challenging behaviour and setting clear boundaries Can build meaningful, professional relationships with pupils Is dependable, proactive, and team-oriented Ideally has experience as a TA, HLTA, Youth Worker, or in a similar support-based role Why Join Us?
