Mini Bulk Driver - LPG - ADR preferred though not essential!
Location: Purfleet
Hours: Typical hours between 18:00 - 04:00 (Flexibility is required with times)
Salary: £40,000 per annum pro rata (£20,000 across the 6 months). Saturdays - 1.5X / Sundays - 2X. Annualised hours so overtime kicks in after 1248 hours have been worked.
Overview
Are you reliable, safety-conscious, and looking for a vital role in LPG logistics? We're seeking a dedicated Mini Bulk Driver to ensure our clients mini bulk tankers are safely and efficiently prepared for the next day's deliveries.
ADR is preferred however for a suitably experienced HGV driver, the client will pay for you to be put through the ADR course on the basis that you carry out certain conditions during the 6-month period.
What will you be doing?
You will be starting off at our depot in Purfleet, where you will drive the vehicles across to terminals based in Canvey Island or Corringham, you will load the mini bulk and will head back to Purfleet where the vehicle will be stored ready for the drivers to carry out their customer runs - this will be repeated up to three times per shift.
In relation to times that you will work, some flexibility is required with this role as at times the shift may need to start either a little earlier or later - however finish times will vary as well depending on the number of vehicles to fill and how quickly the vehicles have been loaded so this does benefit both sides!
You will typically work Monday - Friday however on the rare occasion you may be required to work a Saturday (1.5X Overtime Pay) or Sunday (2X Overtime pay) in which you will be paid at an increased rate.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely load mini bulk tankers returning from daytime operations
Prepare vehicles for next-day deliveries
Follow strict loading procedures and raise alarms in case of incidents
Secure site office post-loading
Provide flexibility during operational delays
Proactively manage HSE and security concerns
Liaise with on-site garage for vehicle availability
Required Experience, attributes & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would be an experienced HGV class 1 / 2 ADR driver, who has experience in mini bulk work and working with LPG (or various other fuels).
The client is willing to put staff through their ADR course, so at bare minimum we are looking for the following:
Full UK HGV Class 1 or 2 Licence
HGV Experience - Required.
Willingness to complete terminal inductions which includes security awareness & ADR awareness
Someone who can work independently but can communicate effectively when needed
Good time management is essential
Someone who can carry out a flexible approach to working i.e times they start / finish when needed
