You have significant experience with individual client work involving adults or young people in an addictions or social care setting. You also possess knowledge of drugs, alcohol, and health-related issues, along with effective interventions to support behaviour change. Aquarius is seeking a Team Leader to utilize these skills in a supportive environment.
Aquarius is a charity dedicated to helping individuals and communities overcome harm caused by alcohol, drugs, and gambling. We are currently recruiting for a position within our NGAGE Young People’s Service in Northampton. NGAGE provides early intervention services for young people aged 10-18, offering information, education, advice, and support related to drug and alcohol use.
Responsibilities
As a Team Leader, you will:
* Ensure good clinical practice and compliance with policies and statutory requirements.
* Provide induction, supervision, coaching, and development reviews.
* Manage performance issues.
* Assist in recruiting team members and volunteers.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with commissioners and service providers.
* Manage the service budget, ensuring proper record-keeping and data reporting.
* Actively promote Aquarius’ values and mission.
Requirements
Ideally, you will have:
* A professional qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g., NVQ Level 4 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).
* Proven experience in the substance misuse field and a commitment to ongoing training.
* Knowledge of drugs, alcohol, and health issues, including effective behaviour change interventions.
* Experience in staff supervision, management, training, and partnership working with voluntary and statutory services.
* A good understanding of safeguarding practices.
* Good IT skills and a flexible, person-centred approach.
