Responsibilities include:
1. Must be courteous to patients, visitors, and employees.
2. Administers diagnostic testing procedures to determine the extent of patient's impairment and prognosis for improvement. Identifies pertinent patient problems. (20%)
3. Sets objective, measurable treatment goals incorporating patient's goals for functional outcomes. Establishes a treatment plan based on patient needs and family input. (20%)
4. Performs treatment procedures and adapts techniques to meet patient needs. Reevaluates patients, modifies treatment plans and procedures based on progress. (20%)
5. Provides documentation of patient care, education, and communicates with medical staff regarding patient progress, needs, and discharge planning. (15%)
6. Participates in quality improvement, program evaluation, environmental, and infection control programs. (5%)
7. Trains new personnel and assists with on-the-job training.
8. Guides and directs PTAs, aides, and students.
9. Participates in educational programs, meetings, and workshops.
10. Performs other duties as assigned. (5%)
Qualifications:
* Master's Degree in Speech Pathology.
* Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA.
* Licensed in Massachusetts.
* 1-2 years experience with swallowing disorders preferred.
* Adheres to ASHA's Code of Ethics.
* Current CPR certification.
* Demonstrates clinical competency.
* Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Skills:
* Mathematical and Computer Skills: Ability to work with probability, statistics, geometry, trigonometry, and basic computer skills.
* Reasoning Ability: Logical/scientific thinking, dealing with abstract and concrete variables.
Position Purpose:
Provide diagnostic and treatment services for speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across all age groups, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
Schedule:
* Per Diem hours, rotating days, occasional weekends and holidays.
