To be able to work from an initial brief to define detailed plans for training events that are fit-for-purpose and within agreed budgets, both in relation to specific legal training for a practice group or area and for cross-practice legal training.

To maintain awareness of the training needs and priorities across the practice group, seeking input and guidance from Knowledge Lawyers on legal training and liaising with colleagues in Learning & Development (responsible for managing the firm's skills training offering) where skills training priorities have been identified.

To undertake targeted research into market, legal and practice developments as relevant to training provision (for eg research into new market providers or into technological advances for the delivery of training – including liaising internally with other relevant stakeholders, e.g. IT) and to use this to shape recommendations/ideas for future training events.

Planning, delivery, and review

• To work closely with the practice group (in particular with relevant Knowledge Lawyers) in identifying, sourcing and engaging speakers (both internal and external) for legal training events.

• To use the firm's systems to create, edit and publish content relating to legal training events, advertise events, manage responses (including wait lists), timetables and attendance registers, and to be able to produce statistics and/or reports based on this data.

• To keep all relevant stakeholders up to date on progress against deliverables, use judgment to resolve logistical issues decisively or, as appropriate, escalate further.

Use of technology, information and resources

• To maintain an internal database of legal training materials and resources (including recordings of live sessions, e-learning modules and copies of materials) on the firm's relevant systems, eg Workday Learning, SharePoint.

• To create and maintain accurate collections of materials for the organisation and delivery of legal training events in the firm's document management system, ensuring that these are accessible by the Knowledge team and up-to-date.

• Where required, to support the timely capture of continuing competence data in the UK (liaising with LLP Secretariat and Legal team to resolve more complex queries) and to support the processes around different regimes in other jurisdictions (eg liaising with HR colleagues or L&D, including in relation to CLE accreditation in the US).

People and team

• To share information and workload with Global Legal Training Co-ordinator peers as a collaborative team, taking joint responsibility for a consistently high standard of execution and with flexibility to respond to changes in business needs.

• To collaborate with, and support, the firm's Knowledge Lawyers on the provision of legal training in the practice groups, seeking their guidance as needed on content and using initiative to make suggestions in relation to implementation and delivery of legal training

events. As a member of the wider Knowledge function, to collaborate with other colleagues, particularly our Knowledge & Information Services Team (also part of the function's global shared services offering).

• To collaborate with Executive Assistants and Personal Assistants and to leverage the wider resource available from the firm's Global Centre to ensure that recurring and routine tasks (eg arrangement of internal meetings/catering, bulk data entry, document production etc.) can be delivered in the most efficient manner. To collaborate with and build strong relationships with the firm's L&D team and foster cross-functional working and knowledge sharing as appropriate.
