Soft Services Supervisor (Life Science Environment)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Soft Services Supervisor to lead the delivery of high-quality cleaning and support services within a regulated healthcare environment. This role is critical in ensuring exceptional standards across cleanrooms, controlled environments, and general areas, maintaining full compliance with regulatory, hygiene, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
GMP Cleaning & Compliance
* Oversee cleaning operations within cleanrooms and controlled areas, ensuring strict adherence to standards
* Maintain full compliance with regulatory requirements, including documentation, audit readiness, and traceability
* Develop and manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning
* Monitor environmental cleanliness and contamination control standards
* Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance teams
Soft Services Management
* Manage all soft services including cleaning, waste, laundry, pest control, and hygiene services
* Ensure exceptional cleanliness across clinical and non-clinical areas
* Oversee specialist cleaning activities such as terminal cleans and decontamination
* Plan and coordinate deep cleaning programmes
Leadership & Team Development
* Lead, motivate, and develop cleaning teams and supervisors
* Ensure staff are fully trained in infection control, and health & safety practices
* Conduct performance reviews and promote continuous improvement
Health, Safety & Infection Control
* Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation
* Conduct risk assessments and implement safe systems of work
* Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions
Quality Assurance & Auditing
* Carry out internal audits and maintain accurate cleaning records
* Support external inspections and regulatory audits
* Drive improvements based on audit outcomes
Stakeholder & Resource Management
* Manage service delivery against KPIs and SLAs
* Provide performance reporting and insights
* Oversee staffing, rotas, budgets, and stock control
About You
* Proven experience in Soft Services or Facilities Management within highly regulated, GMP, pharmaceutical, or healthcare settings
* Excellent leadership and team management skills
* Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation
* Experience in auditing, compliance, and quality systems
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Qualifications
* Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH or NEBOSH) desirable
