Role Description
The Product Designer role is located in Skipton, but some work from home. The Product Designer will be responsible for creating and improving visual designs, applying design thinking methodologies, conducting user and product research, and developing product design solutions. The Product Designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products to market and to ensure a user-centered design approach is maintained throughout the product lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities
These responsibilities are central to delivering successful products, maintaining high standards, and ensuring effective collaboration across teams and with external partners.
* Lead business-critical design and development projects from initial brief through to production, ensuring strong design vision and direction across all assigned projects.
* Present and communicate design concepts and directions to management, directors, and both internal and external stakeholders.
* Organise and lead meetings with the design team, internal departments, senior leadership, and external partners.
* Oversee Aesthetic Function Design (AFD) CAD and 2D artwork for developing components and assemblies in collaboration with suppliers.
* Collaborate with creative, marketing, and sales teams to ensure the design vision is clearly communicated and realized.
* Research market trends, competitors, and new opportunities to keep the brand at the forefront of the industry.
* Develop and manage materials, colours, and finishes for assigned projects, and build strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
* Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and environmental standards in partnership with the QC and Technical teams.
* Produce accurate specifications and documentation for manufacturers and stakeholders.
* Continuously develop digital design skills and promote efficient, innovative working practices within the team.
Qualifications
* Skills in Visual Design and Product Design
* Knowledge of Design Thinking methodologies
* Experience in conducting User Research and UX Research
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Proficiency with design software and tools
* Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field; advanced degree is a plus
* Experience in working within Agile development environments is beneficial
