ABOUT THE ROLE The Perfect opportunity for a talented culinary enthusiast to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a small but passionate team, who service an exclusive Private Wellness Club in the heart of the Cotswolds. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will be able to execute all dishes as per menu specs. Ideally, you'll have worked in similar fresh food, restaurant or caf environments before or you'll simply have a passion for good food so that the basics come easily to you. SALARY: 30000 per annum plus tronc HOURS: Full Time 40 Hours - Weekend work included RESPONSIBILITIES Produce all required food for services efficiently, ensuring smooth operation of the kitchen and team management under the direction of the Chefs. Support all Chefs in ordering supplies and maintaining effective stock control. Participate in monthly stock takes in collaboration with other Chefs. Maintain high standards of quality and quantity, including portion control and freshness of all food served. Uphold cleanliness standards across the kitchen and all food service areas. Provide sickness cover and follow company policies related to absenteeism. Train and develop junior team members, fostering growth and skill improvement. Adhere to food hygiene regulations and implement HACCP protocols. Follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures; maintain up-to-date COSHH training. Keep all kitchen equipment clean and in safe working condition. Enforce high levels of personal hygiene within the team. Perform and report on regular audits of kitchen equipment. Handle customer complaints in line with company policy. Set a positive example for the team through leadership and conduct. Carry out any reasonable requests made by management in support of kitchen operations. SKILLS YOU WILL BRING Strong Culinary Expertise: Demonstrates excellent cooking techniques across various cuisines, with a keen eye for presentation and quality in a high-end, customer-focused environment. Leadership & Team Support: Capable of leading shifts, supporting senior chefs, and mentoring junior staff while fostering a positive and professional kitchen culture. Organisation & Time Management: Efficiently manages prep, service, and mise en place under pressure, ensuring timely delivery during busy periods without compromising quality. Attention to Detail: Maintains consistently high standards in food safety, portion control, cleanliness, and presentation, aligning with the expectations of a premium clientele. Adaptability & Communication: Works collaboratively with all departments, adjusts quickly to last-minute changes, and communicates clearly with the team and management.
