The Ü Clinic is a multi-specialist consultant led clinic offering a range of exceptional expert care. We are a busy and reputable health clinic dedicated to supporting our patients. We currently offer GP, Ophthalmology, Skin and Aesthetic services. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to promote health and wellbeing to our patients and the community. We are now seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our financial operations and ensure the smooth running of our accounts.
Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for the clinic, including managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role ensures that all financial transactions are properly recorded and that the clinic remains compliant with relevant accounting standards and healthcare financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Daily Financial Recording
* Record day-to-day financial transactions, including patient payments, vendor invoices, and bank deposits.
* Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate entries.
* Accounts Payable & Receivable
* Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
* Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding balances, and reconcile patient accounts.
* Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts monthly.
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
* Payroll & Employee Expenses
* Assist in processing payroll and maintaining payroll records.
* Track staff leave, reimbursements, and related expenses.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for clinic leadership.
* Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
* Regulatory Compliance
* Ensure financial practices adhere to healthcare-specific accounting and data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA).
* Maintain records for audits and tax filings.
* Clinic Software & Systems
* Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) and practice management systems to manage financial data.
* Ensure integration between billing, EMR, and accounting platforms.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a healthcare or clinic setting.
* Relevant accounting qualification or working towards.
* Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Excel.
* Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
