Overview
The Scarborough Hull York Pathology Service (SHYPS) is seeking a Locum Consultant Histopathologist to join a cohesive team at Hull Royal Infirmary.
Responsibilities
* Develop and report subspecialist cases across a range of pathology disciplines, including gynaecology, gastrointestinal (including pancreas), skin, head - neck, breast, urology, and non-gynaecological cytology.
* Support the in-house molecular testing service for lung, colorectal and melanoma diagnostic pathways.
* Collaborate with a strong dissection team and contribute to the deployment of digital pathology in partnership with the National Pathology Imaging Co-operative.
* Operate within the subspecialist reporting system at Hull Royal Infirmary, supervising and mentoring appropriate staff.
Person Specification
Registration
* Hold a medical degree.
* Full registration and licence to practice with the General Medical Council (GMC).
* FRC Path Part 2.
Experience
* Evidence of clinical competence in cellular pathology.
* Evidence of supervising SpRs (desirable).
* NHS experience (desirable).
* Experience working autonomously (desirable).
Desirable
* Postgraduate thesis.
