Commercial Controller
12‑Month FTC | Hybrid | FMCG
Location: Irlam, Manchester
Salary: 50K‑60K (depending on experience)
Hours: Full‑Time, Hybrid
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the commercial strategy for a key retail account, delivering against volume, profit and growth targets.
* Manage all day‑to‑day commercial activity including pricing, budgeting, forecasting, promotions and profitability.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, supply chain, operations, marketing, store managers and advisors.
* Oversee product training and support category management within the account.
* Use market, category and competitor insight to identify new opportunities and drive innovation.
* Ensure strong service levels, availability and accurate demand planning through cross‑functional collaboration.
* Mentor and support Business Account Executives or relevant commercial team members.
* Proactively explore opportunities to grow the customer base and broaden the portfolio.
About You:
* Strong FMCG Account Management or Commercial Leadership experience.
* Experience working in a manufacturing‑led environment.
* Retail sales experience across grocery or convenience channels.
* Excellent negotiation and financial acumen, including P&L ownership.
* Strong Excel and numerical skills (SAP experience is a plus).
* Confident communicator, able to influence both internally and externally.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and spot opportunities.
* Degree in Business, Economics or related field (or equivalent experience).
* Full UK driving licence.
