Deputy Manager – Residential & Nursing Care Home
Location: Worthing
Salary: Up to £, per annum (doe)
Hours: Full-time, hours per week
Role Type: Non-clinical (% supernumerary / % floor-based & rota)

Are you an experienced care professional ready to take the next step in your career? Our reputable mid-sized residential and nursing care home in Worthing is seeking a proactive and dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager in delivering exceptional care and operational excellence.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an established Deputy Manager or a strong Team Leader/Senior Carer looking to step up. If you are passionate about providing high-quality care and have a solid understanding of CQC expectations, we would love to hear from you.

What We’re Looking For

1. Previous experience working in a residential or nursing home setting (essential)
2. NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum requirement)
3. Strong understanding of CQC regulations and compliance
4. Confident leader with excellent communication and people-management skills
5. Ability to balance office duties with hands-on floor support
6. Organised, proactive, and committed to maintaining high care standards

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Supernumerary responsibilities (approx. %)

7. Support the Home Manager with day-to-day operational oversight
8. Assist with audits, quality assurance, and compliance monitoring
9. Lead supervisions, appraisals, and staff development
10. Support with rota planning, recruitment, and onboarding
11. Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation meets regulatory standards
12. Contribute to care planning and person-centred service delivery

Floor-based responsibilities (approx. %)

13. Provide visible leadership across the home, acting as a role model to staff
14. Support care teams on the floor, ensuring safe and effective care
15. Respond to emergencies and assist with decision-making
16. Build positive relationships with residents, families, and external professionals
17. Ensure a smooth and efficient shift handover and rota coverage
