Join NY Highways Property as part of our dedicated Property Services team. You'll work on a mix of capital projects and responsive maintenance across a wide range of commercial properties. From first fix to final finishes, your craftsmanship will help maintain and improve essential infrastructure across the county.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be part of a supportive team, delivering high-quality joinery services while ensuring safety and compliance at every step.
What You'll Be Doing
* Carrying out 1st and 2nd fix joinery across commercial sites
* Supporting emergency repairs, planned maintenance, and capital projects
* Operating trade-specific tools and constructing access platforms
* Collaborating with supervisors, contractors, and internal teams
* Assisting with planning, risk assessments, and digital reporting
* Mentoring apprentices and contributing to team development
What We're Looking For
* NVQ Level 3 in Joinery (or equivalent time-served experience)
* CSCS Gold Card
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Experience in both 1st and 2nd fix joinery
* Understanding of Health & Safety practices
* Experience across multiple trades in property maintenance
* Flexibility to travel and participate in on-call rota
* Enhanced DBS check (Children's Barred List)
Desirable (or willingness to train):
* PASMA certification
* Manual Handling, Safe Dig, Abrasive Wheels, Banksman training
* Nail Gun Awareness, Face Fit, Asbestos Awareness
* Working at Height certification
* Emergency First Aid training
