Salary: GBP 52,149 per annum + overtime (earnings up to GBP 60,000+)
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off : Days and Nights (6am:6pm / 6pm:6am)

We are recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, for our client, to join their hands:on, in:house engineering team.

The ideal candidate will come from a heavy industry manufacturing background and will have experience working as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Technician or Shift Engineer, maintaining large industrial plant in a safety-critical environment.

The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Maintenance Fitter), you will play a key role in keeping production equipment running smoothly. From planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to breakdown response and fault finding, you will be working with a variety of specialised machinery in a fast-paced industrial environment.
This is a varied and practical role that will allow you to use and develop a wide range of skills, including fitting, fabrication, welding and servicing.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out mechanical maintenance on plant and production equipment
* Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
* Fault find and diagnose issues on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
* Bearing fitting and alignment
* Maintain high standards of safety, quality and reliability
* Support continuous improvement and reduction of downtime
* Work effectively as part of a shift-based maintenance team
About You
You will be a mechanically biased maintenance engineer with experience working within manufacturing or heavy industry environments. You will enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and working within a busy production setting, along with:
* A Level 3 qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
* Experience within manufacturing / heavy industry environments
* Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental best practice
* Diagnostics experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and drive systems
* Arc and MIG welding and basic fabrication
* Knowledge of cutting and grinding regulations
* Bearing fitting and alignment experience
* Being comfortable with demanding maintenance work
