About the role
The post holder will join the Assessment Team – a well‑established team with extensive skills and knowledge comprising Occupational Therapists and Patient support workers. The team provides assessments for equipment, minor and major adaptations for patients within Trafford, receiving referrals for patients with a range of conditions affecting their functional ability.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with experience in managing a complex caseload who would like to further develop their specialist clinical skills in a community setting. The successful candidate will have advanced assessment and treatment skills, manage a complex caseload autonomously, and be a key member of the MDT. The role offers opportunities to be involved in service development, supervise students and band 5s, and train within an integrated team.
Key responsibilities
* Carry a caseload appropriate to the role in line with banding and professional expertise.
* Interpret and undertake advanced clinical reasoning to analyse detailed/complex clinical and non‑clinical information, make a justifiable assessment, contribute to diagnosis and prognosis, and recommend the best course of Occupational Therapy intervention.
* Utilise specific Occupational Therapy skills to facilitate and optimise the treatment of patients.
* Apply advanced assessment and treatment skills; manage a complex caseload autonomously; act as a key member of the multidisciplinary team.
