Location: Wheal Remfry Pit Operation, Fraddon, Cornwall
Salary: Starting at £30,714
Hours of work: 38.5 per week, Day and night shifts across a 4-week rotating shift pattern:
Day Shift: Week 1: 7am – 7pm - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thurs off)
Week 2: 7am – 7pm Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)
Night Shift: Week 3: 7pm – 7am - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thurs off)
Week 4: 7pm – 7am Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)

The job role:
As an Operative Chargehand, you’ll support and supervise the day-to-day operation of wet mining operations at our Wheal Remfry Site. Working closely with the Shift Captain/Supervisor, you’ll oversee the use of washing hoses, SCADA controlled pumps, and conveyors to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities, but are not limited to:
* Lead and supervise production operatives across your shift
* Maintain health, safety and environmental standards
* Operate the production process to meet tonnage and quality targets
* Deputise for the Shift Captain/Supervisor when required
* Monitor and report on production metrics and performance
* Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
* Work collaboratively with maintenance teams to ensure preventative maintenance is carried out
* Attend production meetings and support operational planning
* Assist in training, rota planning and identify team development needs

* Have supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
* Be a confident and motivated leader
* Be a strong communicator
* Be proficient and confident in using IT and digital systems
* Have strong literacy, numeracy and problem-solving abilities
