We are looking for an experienced Contract & Legal Manager to join our team and take ownership of the way we manage contracts and legal obligations across the business. This is a senior role where youll balance day-to-day commercial contracts with broader legal and regulatory responsibilities, ensuring we remain compliant, protected, and commercially sound.
The Role:
* Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with pharmaceutical suppliers, NHS commissioners, and other partners.
* Managing the contract lifecycle monitoring milestones, renewals, KPIs, and performance obligations.
* Acting as the first point of contact for legal matters across the business, providing clear and practical advice.
* Working with external lawyers when specialist advice is required and ensuring their input is used effectively.
* Supporting governance and compliance keeping our legal register up to date and helping us meet requirements from regulators such as MHRA and GPhC.
* Advising on data protection, GDPR, and confidentiality matters in collaboration with the Data Protection Officer.
* Supporting due diligence activities and helping the business understand and manage legal risks.
* Providing guidance and training to colleagues on contract awareness and compliance.
* Keeping department leads informed of their contract-related responsibilities and performance expectations.
About you:
* Solid experience in contract management and legal compliance (healthcare experience would be a bonus, but not essential).
* Previous exposure to NHS or pharmaceutical service contracts is desirable.
* A good understanding of contract law, commercial law, and data protection.
* Strong communication skills able to explain legal points in plain English to non-lawyers.
* A commercially minded approach with the ability to balance legal risk with business priorities.
* A legal qualification (solicitor, barrister, or equivalent) or significant experience in a contracts/legal management role.
