Network & Infrastructure Capacity Manager

Computershare, in collaboration with hackajob, is seeking a Network & Infrastructure Capacity Manager to join the team in Edinburgh.
Role
Based in the Edinburgh office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week.
Responsible for ensuring the efficient, scalable, and cost-effective operation of hybrid IT infrastructure by proactively monitoring, analysing, and forecasting compute, storage, network and software license utilisation. Supports business continuity and growth by developing capacity models, identifying performance bottlenecks, and optimizing resource allocation across on‑premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Taking ownership and accountability to monitor and forecast compute, storage and network capacity and performance across public cloud, hybrid and on‑prem environments.
* Make data‑driven recommendations based on historical usage data and forecasts.
* Model impacts on capacity based on project forecasts & new service implementation plans.
* Develop capacity models and thresholds to support business growth and continuity, work with NOC and engineering to implement proactive capacity alerts and responses.
* Use SolarWinds to visualize network topology and traffic patterns, set thresholds and alerts for link saturation and device health.
* Automate and provide regular reports to IT Leadership and stakeholders on capacity status, risks, and recommendations.
What will you bring to the role?
Wide-ranging technical expertise across storage, compute and networking. Knowledge of capacity and performance metrics for tracking, analysis and recommending standards, including alerting linked to ITSM processes. Experience in a global, complex organisation with strong communication skills for clear verbal and written updates to internal stakeholders, teams, and leadership.
Other Key Skills Required
* Experience working within various technology environments across storage, compute and networking.
* Cloud experience, particularly in Azure.
* Reporting skills to effectively provide updates and analysis for stakeholders and teams.
* Experience leveraging PowerBI and Grafana.
* Demonstrable experience gathering data via APIs and other means across a range of technologies.
* Excellent attention to detail and evaluative judgement based on best practice and previous experience.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
