Job description
Our client is seeking a meticulous Traffic Order Maker to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves significant responsibility in ensuring the proper drafting and implementation of Traffic Management Orders, complying with governmental statutory procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drafting and making experimental and permanent Traffic Orders
2. Conducting consultations with statutory consultees, emergency services, members, and other stakeholders
3. Advertising proposed and finalised Traffic Orders as per regulations
4. Working with the Council's legal section to formalise Orders
5. Handling technical enquiries and liaising with organisations such as the Police
6. Ensuring compliance with procedure regulations and monitoring correspondence progress
7. Maintaining records and managing administrative duties such as filing and photocopying
8. Supporting Traffic Engineers with traffic-related matters, including small parking scheme designs
9. Conducting public consultations on small parking schemes and reporting findings
10. Maintaining and updating PARKMAP database and Map Explorer for Council use
11. Updating Traffic Orders to reflect legislative changes
12. Performing additional duties within the scope of the role as required
Job Requirements:
13. Experience with writing/drafting Permanent Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs)
14. Understanding of governmental statutory procedures for Traffic Orders
15. Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder consultations
16. Proficiency in handling technical enquiries and administrative duties
17. Ability to maintain and update databases such as PARKMAP
18. Competence in drafting legal documents and formalising Orders
19. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
