Annual Salary and Contract
Annual salary: up to £29,856.80 per annum including company vehicle and fuel card, or £3,500 company car allowance. Contract: full time, 6‑month fixed term, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. OOH duties are expected, with one week every 12 weeks on standby paid at £30 per weekday and £50 per weekend day. Additional work during OOH is paid 1.5 times the hourly rate.
Role Overview
Housing Support Officer responsible for delivering high‑quality housing management and support services to asylum seekers in Aberdeen. The role combines property management with person‑centred support, ensuring compliance with standards and safeguarding the welfare of all service users.
Responsibilities
* Support asylum seekers through the Home Office right‑to‑work application process with practical and emotional assistance.
* Provide safeguarding and welfare support, monitor wellbeing, and maintain accurate records for compliance.
* Coordinate move‑ins, move‑outs, voids, inspections, and manage a portfolio of homes within the assigned region.
* Conduct risk assessments, identify service users’ needs, and develop support packages to promote independence.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies, care providers, and community organisations to ensure appropriate support is in place.
* Maintain professional boundaries, communicate effectively with colleagues, service users, local authorities, and partners, and support colleagues as required.
* Show resilience, initiative, and flexibility, including willingness to travel between sites.
* Hold a full UK driving licence and meet all relevant background and security checks before commencing employment.
Role Criteria
* Experience working with vulnerable and diverse client groups, including those with mental health needs or challenging behaviours.
* Strong knowledge of cultural awareness and professional boundaries.
* Excellent record‑keeping, performance reporting, and ability to work independently.
* Resilience, empathy, and people‑focused attitude in a high‑pressure environment.
* Flexibility and initiative to undertake ad‑hoc projects as required.
* Full UK driving licence.
