Your new company
We are a well‑established national organisation undergoing a significant transformation of our digital, data and information landscape. As part of a major modernisation programme, we are investing in stronger data capabilities, improved governance practices and a more connected, insight‑driven environment that supports the vital work we deliver across the UK. This role offers a rare opportunity to shape and lead a core data function that underpins services for adults, children and families, helping to ensure better decisions, more effective safeguarding and improved outcomes for the communities we serve.
Your new role
As the Data Team Lead, you will take responsibility for guiding, developing and motivating a team of 7 analysts who support both adult and children's services. You will play a key leadership role in organising the team's workload, ensuring high‑quality outputs and championing consistent standards across reporting, analysis and data management. Working in a complex multi‑service environment, you will oversee the interpretation of operational and service‑level data, supporting colleagues across social care, safeguarding, early intervention and community‑based programmes. You will provide direction on priorities, help embed better governance and quality practices and ensure that the team is aligned to the organisation's wider transformation aims. While you will maintain a good grounding in analytical practice, the focus of this role is on people leadership, stakeholder engagement and supporting services that work directly with vulnerable children, adults and families.
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring proven experience of leading or supervising analytical teams, ideally within the social sector or in environments that support vulnerable communities. You will have an understanding of how data supports adult and children's services, from safeguarding and care pathways to performance monitoring, statutory returns and service improvement. You will be confident managing people, developing capability and fostering a collaborative, supportive team culture. Strong communication skills will be essential, as you will regularly engage with social care professionals, operational leads and senior stakeholders, ensuring that complex information is translated into meaningful insight. While a good understanding of analytical methods and common data tools is important, success in this role will come from your ability to lead others, manage expectations, resolve challenges and guide the delivery of high‑quality, reliable outputs in a fast‑moving and sensitive environment.
What you'll get in return
You will join a programme with meaningful national impact, helping to build a more connected and insight‑driven data environment across services that directly support children, adults and families. Alongside a competitive daily rate, you will benefit from flexible working arrangements, a collaborative leadership community and the opportunity to influence a transformative initiative that will significantly enhance the organisation's digital, analytical and service‑improvement maturity.
