We are looking for an Admin officers to work for our client MOJ. This is a temporary position until March 2025
If you have a strong admin background then this may be the opportunity for you!
We are also encouraging recent Law graduates to apply for the role as it gives you an insight into how the law courts operate whilst also being able to network with various stakeholders within the law industry.
This role will require you to speak to a group of around 20 jurors and this would take place each week - so if you are a confident public speaker this may be the role for you
1. Client/Role: Ministry of Justice - Admin Officer
2. Based at York Crown Court
3. Hours: Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week (9:00-17:00)
4. Full time in the office
5. Pay rate: £11.59ph then rises to £11.88ph after 12 weeks in the role
Overview of role:
You will provide administrative support. You will follow set procedures and will exercise some independent judgement in carrying out instructions, under general supervision.
6. General administrative support
7. Speaking to a group of jurors and instructing them on processes
8. Monitoring mailbox
9. Inputting new cases
10. Interactions with Judges, court users, defendants and police officers
11. Overseeing administrative procedures and processes
12. Telephone and face to face interactions
13. Court clerking both in Court and virtually and assisting the Judiciary and other stakeholders.
Skills required for the role:
14. Good communication skills, both oral and written
15. Team working Skills
16. Can work under pressure
17. Use your own initiative as well as working part of a team
18. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships
19. Strong Admin skills
20. Strong IT skills- using bespoke systems
21. Strong customer service
Training will be provided and it is an in depth programme. Due to this, the client likes to keep candidates for as long as possible
