As an equity analyst covering the industrials sector you will build an in-depth knowledge of the sector and a set of companies under coverage which will be leveraged to provide value-add expertise and insights to both internal and external clients and stakeholders. This role requires model creation and maintenance, thematic research publication and client marketing.
Aside from taking responsibility for individual company and/or sector coverage, the candidate will also consider rolling out coverage to additional stocks if deemed commercial in order to promote the franchise.
All analysts in the department will be required to have input into department wide initiatives.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Analysis of financial accounts of both covered and peer companies;
* Analysis of industry data, trends and related company strategies;
* Developing detailed financial models for covered companies;
* Interaction with management teams and engagement with Corporate Broking to maintain existing corporate relationships and develop new relationships;
* Publishing thematic stock and sector research notes for institutional clients;
* Innovative stock and sector ideas;
* Broadening the Industrials sector coverage.
Experience
* 3 years+. Preference for candidate with prior sector experience (Paper & Packaging specifically) with a detailed market and company knowledge.
* 3rd level qualification
* CFA or chartered accountancy qualifications are welcome but not prerequisite
* Excellent Microsoft Office skills;
* Bloomberg and/or FactSet

* Knowledge of and a strong interest in the international investment environment;
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
* Strong numeric ability combined with an independent thought process as well as being skilled at problem-solving;
* A highly motivated team player who requires minimum supervision;
* A proven track record in balancing exceptional client service with challenging targets.
