Job Description Winners Recruitment are seeking a skilled Stonemason to join a very established restorative building company in Cornwall, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing stone structures such as walls on listed buildings.. This is a physically demanding role that requires expertise in masonry techniques and the use of various tools and equipment. Duties:- Cut, shape, and lay stones to construct or repair walls, floors, and other stone structures- Mix mortar or grout and spread it onto stones using trowels- Set stones in place according to blueprints or specifications- Use hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and levels to shape stones and remove excess material- Operate power tools such as saws and grinders to cut and shape stones- Repair or replace damaged or missing stones- Clean finished surfaces using water or chemicals- Ensure work area is clean and free from debris Requirements- Proven experience as a Stonemason or similar role- Proficient in masonry techniques and the use of hand and power tools- Knowledge of different types of stone materials and their properties- Ability to read blueprints or specifications to determine project requirements- Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship- Physical stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods of time- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team Skills:- Proficiency in using power tools such as saws and grinders- Knowledge of roofing techniques for stone roof construction or repair- Familiarity with various hand tools used in masonry work- Strong understanding of masonry principles and techniques- Carpentry skills for framing structures if necessary If you are a skilled Stonemason looking for a challenging opportunity with room for growth, we encourage you to apply.
