Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Fitter
The role is to ensure assemblies are manufactured correctly according to specifications and on time.
• Fit and assemble machine parts accurately based on engineering drawings.
• Fit sub-assembly parts using engineering drawings.
• Use hand tools and power tools for fitting and assembling components.
• Safely operate pillar drills, deburring tools, and grinding wheels as needed.
• Use engineering measuring equipment to ensure components meet specifications.
• Drill and tap components when required.
• Meet torque requirements and mark as per procedures.
• Fit/pipeline pneumatic and water circuits using copper or plastic pipes.
• Strip and prepare machines and tooling for painting and dispatch.
• Install machines at customer sites, including overseas locations.
• Adhere to safe systems of work and report issues immediately.
• Maintain and store tools and equipment safely.
• Report non-conforming parts or design issues promptly using NCR/ECR forms.
Qualifications & Requirements – Mechanical Fitter
• Mechanical Apprenticeship.
• Ability to read and understand technical engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of pneumatics drawings is advantageous.
• Flexibility to travel abroad to customer sites if needed.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
