Working closely with colleagues at Hope Point, Dundee Wellbeing Support The Dundee Bereaved by Suicide Support Service will provide support to Dundee citizens, in the immediate aftermath of a suicide as well as for those who have experienced historical losses. Support following the event of a suicide is an evidenced way of reducing risk of suicide in people who have been affected in this manner. Support offered within this service will be peer led and on a one to one basis. The design of this Support has been co-produced by a local Steering Group with wide representation, most importantly including those with lived experience of being bereaved by suicide.
Bereaved by Suicide Peer Practitioners offer authenticity and a unique insight that can enable and empower positive wellbeing. Within this role, you will use your own lived experience of being bereaved by suicide to inspire hope in people who use the service, as well as share coping and self-management techniques. Personal experience of being affected by a suicide is an essential element of the post and as such, you should be in a place where using this complex experience daily is manageable, and not detrimental to yourself.
