About The Role
Want to work in a children's home that makes a positive, lasting difference to children's lives? Are you an experienced Residential Worker or Youth Worker, or do you have no experience but are looking to build a career in residential care?
We need determined, caring and thoughtful people to be long-lasting, significant adults in a child's life, and this could the role for you.
We are looking for someone who
* Is 22 years of age or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).
* Is caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with others.
* Has a valid manual driving licence.
* Has the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
* Able to work a flexible shift pattern 3.5 Days on and 5.5 Days off
Previous experience is not essential for this role. Although having some experience working with children or young people in a similar setting is advantageous. All new staff receive a thorough induction and support when you join any of our homes.
What will I do as a Residential Support Worker?
Ad Astra Children Homes are built around seeing each individual for themselves and accepting everyone as they are. You will allow our children to experience childhood, build self-esteem and accept themselves, helping their journey into adulthood.
* You will help facilitate children's activities and appointments, supporting them in all aspects of their lives. You will ensure their health and wellbeing, safeguarding them at all times.
* You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
* You will support the wider team with a range of domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and food shopping.
* You will create timetables, manage paperwork and write reports.
