Job Description
This is a fast-paced and varied Senior Management Accountant role, providing support to the CFO for not only month-end duties but also a variety of strategic projects that have a true impact on business performance and success. The role typically includes preparing monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, cashflow reporting, and maintaining strong financial controls. Other responsibilities will include:Month-End & Reporting
3. Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
4. Oversee key month-end tasks including sales, cost of goods, stock, accruals, and volume/price/mix analysis
5. Produce accurate management accounts and reporting packs
Forecasting & Analysis
6. Lead the perpetual forecasting process, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs
7. Maintain and update ongoing cashflow forecasts, proactively highlighting potential issues
8. Review P&Ls for promotions, new business, NPD and annual customer terms
Systems & Audit
9. Maintain the accounting system, ensuring smooth month-end and year-end processes
10. Lead the year-end audit, ensuring all information is prepared, accurate, and delivered on time
11. Drive continuous improvement across financial controls and reporting
Team Leadership & Business Support
12. Mentor and support a Finance Assistant
13. Partner with senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions and influencing decisions
14. Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance Director across strategic and operational initiatives
The Successful Applicant
For this Senior Management Accountant role, we're looking for:
15. Excellent analytical, numerical and forecasting abilities
16. High level of accuracy with exceptional attention to detail
17. Confident communicator able to influence stakeholders
18. Strong presentation skills and ability to challenge constructively
19. Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or QBE with strong practical experience
20. Proven experience producing monthly management accounts and reporting packs
21. Solid background in budgeting, forecasting and performance tracking
22. Experience leading or supporting year-end audits
