The Austin Company's UK office is looking for a Senior Mechanical Building Services (HVAC) engineer, with 8+ years of practical experience working in the UK.
What will you be doing
* Delivering mechanical HVAC engineering assignments ranging from desktop studies to discipline design. This may involve taking on the lead role of the full design
* HVAC and Public Health mechanical designs, plus supporting the site delivery as part of a wider Austin’s projects team
* Working on several projects in parallel, leading and guiding the mechanical engineers. You will take ownership of the mechanical designs, delivering to an agreed programme
* Interacting with a multidisciplinary team of in-house architects, engineers, and project managers
* Investigating and utilising latest available technologies for designing energy efficient systems
* Working closely with the Head of Mechanical Section to expand and enhance the department’s capabilities
What do we need from you
* Member of professional engineering institution
* Appropriate engineering degree
* Discipline specific design experience
* Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the building services industry in the UK
* An interest in working on complex and challenging projects
* Organisational skills and attention to detail – identify a problem, collect data, establish the facts, draw valid conclusions on the way forward, communicate to the team
* Confident, with strong verbal communication skills and able to present solutions to the team and clients
* Flexible and adaptable approach – the work is a mix of desk and occasional client meetings, site visits
* Computer literate in MS Office software applications
* Must be familiar with Navisworks, Revit experience would be beneficial
* Valid full UK driving licence
