ROLE – Chemical Process Engineer
SALARY - £40,000- £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
TYPE – Permanent
LOCATION – West Berkshire
My client designs and manufactures specialist equipment for process industries. They are looking for a Chemical Process Engineer to join their team in West Berkshire on a permanent basis.
The Chemical Process Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* At least 2-4 years of relevant experience inchemical process engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of / experienced with thermal processes
* A degree (BEng, MEng, MSc, or PhD) in Chemical Engineering or a related field
* Strong Project Management skills
* Strong knowledge of process design, scale-up, and optimization
* Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD)
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., COMAH, HSE)
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
* Excellent leadership skills, and ideally some people management experience
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
* Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Responsibilities include:
* Leading the design, development, and optimisation of chemical processes
* Solving problems and improving engineering processes
* Conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments for new and existing projects
* Overseeing the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
* Managing and mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including R&D, production, and quality assurance
* Preparing technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
* Pushing for constant progression for product development and manufacturing techniques
