Our Gloucester pharmacy plays a key role in supplying medicines to multiple NHS Trusts across the South West of England, and we are now strengthening our dispensary team.
Role Overview
As an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT), you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely supply of medicines.
You will be responsible for final accuracy checks of dispensed prescriptions, supporting dispensary workflows, and maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform final accuracy checks on dispensed medicines in line with ACT accreditation and SOPs
* Ensure prescriptions are accurately labelled, clinically appropriate, and meet quality standards
* Support dispensary workflow efficiency alongside ACTs, dispensers, and pharmacists
* Assist with training and development of Accuracy Checking Dispensers
* Support the preparation and supply of medication for NHS Trust orders and clinics
* Resolve discrepancies in collaboration with pharmacy colleagues
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements
* Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and medicines governance
Person Specification
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent)
* Previous dispensary experience
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
* Experience using pharmacy IT systems
* Ability to manage workload in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
