An established and well-regarded law firm with a strong presence across Greater Manchester is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join its busy residential property team based in Whitefield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build long-term experience within conveyancing in a supportive and professional environment.
The Role
Working closely with Conveyancers and Fee Earners, you will provide essential administrative and transactional support across a varied residential property caseload. The role offers exposure to the full conveyancing process from instruction through to completion and post-completion.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with the progression of residential conveyancing matters including sales, purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of equity
* Preparing and managing legal documentation, forms and correspondence
* Opening and closing files, carrying out AML and compliance checks
* Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and third parties
* Requesting and chasing searches, mortgage offers and title documentation
* Supporting with exchange and completion processes
* Handling post-completion tasks including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications
* Maintaining accurate records using the firm’s case management system
About You
* Previous experience in a conveyancing assistant, legal assistant or legal administrative role
* Basic understanding of the residential conveyancing process
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Confident communicator with a professional client-facing manner
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing deadlines
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
