Engineering Contractor Coordinator
Location: Slough, United Kingdom
The Engineering Contractor Coordinator role is based at Lonza’s Slough site, supporting safe and compliant contractor operations within a highly regulated environment. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in ensuring engineering and maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with GMP standards.

What you will do
6. Act as the primary point of contact for all on-site contractors, ensuring safe and compliant working practices
7. Coordinate contractor activities alongside engineering and operations to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency
8. Manage the Permit to Work (PTW) system, including issuing, reviewing, and closing permits
9. Review and approve risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), ensuring all safety controls are in place
10. Monitor contractor performance and compliance, escalating any safety or quality concerns
11. Support engineering teams with maintenance, shutdowns, and project activities
12. Maintain accurate records and support audits, inspections, and incident investigations
What we are looking for
13. Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g. pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or food industries)
14. Strong knowledge of Permit to Work systems and safe systems of work
15. Understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements
16. Experience coordinating or supervising contractors in a technical or operational setting
17. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
18. Confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours and enforce high standards
19. Relevant health & safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH) or equivalent experience is desirable
